Standard Pump Troubleshooting
Problem: Dripping Tip
A) A common cause for dripping tips is the top o-ring in the pump being worn out. Below are two ways to check the o-ring without taking the pump apart.
Without the pumps operating open the reservoir and look for bubbles. If you see bubbles the top o-ring is bad. The o-ring is really worn if this test is positive.
Remove the stainless connector on the top of the pump. Fill the exposed reservoir with fluid and watch for bubbles. If you see bubbles the top o-ring is bad
B) A common cause for dripping tips is the use of the wrong ferule on the plastic tubing. The correct ferule is shaped like a funnel. Most tool cribs have the barrel shaped ferules – these do not work.
C) A common cause for dripping tips is a week spring or worn out check ball. Every tip has a spring and ball with it. Try replacing this spring and check ball.
